OCR Studio to Unveil Fully Controllable AI for KYC at AI Everything Abu Dhabi 2026

OCR Studio, a provider of ID authentication technologies, has developed an AI-powered solution for KYC and customer onboarding designed to remain under human control at every stage of its operation. The system enables financial institutions, enterprises, and government agencies to perform ID scanning, face matching, and other identity verification procedures without the risk of an AI model going beyond its assigned task and making unsupported decisions. The solution will debut at AI Everything Abu Dhabi, the world’s largest AI-first exhibition, taking place on October 6-7, 2026, at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.

The announcement comes amid growing concern across the AI industry over increasingly autonomous systems becoming harder to predict and control. On September 16, OpenAI published six reports on unexpected model behavior, including models hiding mistakes, uploading files to the internet, and using software repositories to communicate. Against this backdrop, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman called on AI companies “to slow down or stop” if they reach a point where development can no longer proceed safely.

The solution OCR Studio will present at the exhibition addresses these concerns by making control a built-in property of the architecture itself. During KYC, the system operates entirely on the user’s device or within the organization’s own infrastructure, without sending identity document images, selfies, or extracted personal data to clouds or external servers. In this architecture, the AI model has no open-ended mandate to initiate unrelated actions or independently transfer information to third parties – it performs only the identity verification tasks defined by the business.

Control also extends to every result produced by the system. When the AI model extracts data from an identity document, it provides confidence values for every recognized character. During document authentication, individual checks return separate results, allowing businesses to see exactly why a document has been flagged – for example, because of signs of digital editing, deepfake manipulation, or portrait substitution. Face matching follows the same evidence-based logic, returning a similarity score instead of a simple binary “match” or “no match” verdict. This allows businesses to monitor and interpret the system’s operation in real time.

OCR Studio chose AI Everything Abu Dhabi for the first public demonstration of the solution because “Trust, Safety and the Limits of Autonomy” has become one of the event’s central discussion themes. The company intends to demonstrate that AI systems can indeed remain transparent, purpose-bound, and under the organization’s full control. Visitors will be able to see the technology on October 6-7 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, Hall 4, booths P197–P198.
