OCR Studio Opens GITEX AI Europe With AI Technology Built for European KYC
OCR Studio, a developer of document recognition and anti-fraud technologies, is opening its two-day showcase at GITEX AI Europe, the region’s largest tech and AI event. Taking place at Messe Berlin on June 30 – July 1, 2026, the exhibition brings together enterprises, startups, investors, and public-sector leaders working across AI, cybersecurity, fintech, digital infrastructure, and other technology sectors.

At booth H1.2-28, OCR Studio is presenting a specialized AI system for KYC and customer onboarding across European markets. The solution supports national ID cards, passports, residence permits, driving licences, and other identity documents issued by all 27 EU Member States, as well as documents from non-EU European countries, including the UK, Switzerland, and Türkiye. This enables banks, fintech companies, insurers, telecom providers, and digital platforms to build cross-border onboarding processes without deploying separate recognition systems for individual European countries.
OCR Studio’s technology scans identity documents in 103 languages, including all 24 official EU languages, and processes IDs written in non-Latin scripts – Cyrillic, Greek, Armenian, and Georgian, which are used in several European countries. The recognition runs directly on the end user’s device or within the company’s infrastructure, with no document images stored or transmitted to external services. This architecture gives organizations control over where identity data is processed and supports alignment with requirements of the GDPR and national privacy and data-protection regulations.
The solution is also designed to support increasingly stringent age assurance standards already in force for certain categories of online services in France, Germany, Italy, the UK, Spain, and Ireland. The system checks the authenticity of the presented ID, extracts the date of birth, and automatically calculates the holder’s age. It also detects high-quality document collages in which only the date-of-birth field has been replaced. This helps prevent minors from bypassing age restrictions with manipulated identity documents.
GITEX AI Europe continues until tomorrow. Attendees can experience OCR Studio’s Europe-focused solutions for KYC, age verification, and fraud prevention live at booth H1.2-28 at Messe Berlin. The company has brought synthetic samples of European identity documents to the exhibition, allowing visitors to test the recognition technology and evaluate its accuracy in real time.
