OCR Studio Launches Its 2026 Exhibition Season at MWC Barcelona

OCR Studio, a developer of optical character recognition technologies, is opening its 2026 exhibition season at MWC Barcelona, the leading international event for the mobile communications industry, taking place from 2-5 March.

The company will present its two major breakthroughs: the world’s first AI system for ID scanning on AR glasses and the enhanced version of its flagship document forensics system OCR ID-verify. Throughout four days of the exhibition, the new technologies will be demonstrated at OCR Studio’s stand – over 100,000 MWC Barcelona attendees from 200+ countries are welcome to test them.

OCR Studio’s first headline showcase is an AI system tailored for devices with extremely limited computational resources such as smart glasses. Using ultra-lightweight neural networks, company specialists enabled scanning of identity documents and machine-readable objects directly on these glasses – this means that the system does not transmit any data to clouds, external servers, or crowdsourcing platforms. The solution allows border guards and seaport employees to recognize identity documents from 250+ countries and issuers as well as any license plates and container seal numbers at a glance.

Another showcase is an updated document forensics system now able to detect a broader range of fraud schemes. The new version spots forgeries with substituted fields and photos, masked data blocks, composited image fragments, and injected foreign elements. This enables businesses to detect document fraud reliably – including AI-driven deepfakes and morphing-style attacks – throughout KYC and client onboarding. The system’s on-device architecture also reduces exposure to vendor-side data breaches and helps businesses comply with strict personal data protection rules – including Spain’s Organic Law 3/2018 on the Protection of Personal Data and the Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
